Goldenseal is a small business bookkeeping program with check writing capabilities included. At $395.00 Goldenseal is one of the priciest programs we have reviewed. For consumers just looking for a check writing program with some basic home bookkeeping features, Goldenseal is overkill.

Goldenseal has a great graphical user interface (GUI) with plenty of icons and menu options that make it easy to explore on your own. You can write checks from multiple bank accounts, search for specific checks and print a check history.

Goldenseal has one default check template that you can customize by adding personal/business logos or other graphics. The MICR line is not printed from the program so you will have to add on a MICR font or buy check stock with a pre–printed MICR line.

The program provides loads of small business features such as customer, business and employee accounts. You can also print invoices, sales receipts and expense reports.

A user manual is included with the program and their website has a helpful list of FAQs. They provide a lifetime of free technical support and their customer service responded to our email within 24 hours. They also keep their software updated, so it will run with Vista.
