Checking Accounts and Transactions

The Goldenseal accounting software lets you enter any number of checking accounts. Within each account you can have any number of separate checkbooks with different check numbers.

You can write checks individually, but Goldenseal lets you write most of your checks all at once with the Pay Bills and Write Payroll commands. You can also enter most deposits automatically with the Deposit Funds command.

You can also enter checks individually, and match it to the transaction that it covers, or pay money “on account” if there isn’t a specific item due.

Instant Payments

When you pay for a purchase by check, cash or credit card, Goldenseal creates an “instant payment” for the item when you enter the expense transaction. That way you won’t need to enter two transactions for the purchase.

Check Printing

Goldenseal prints checks on any pre–printed check forms. We have blanks that support the most common layouts, and you can easily use the Custom Layouts command to change the forms to fit anything else.

Goldenseal also prints paychecks. It itemizes wages and deductions and prints them on they pay stub. Goldenseal allows paycheck printing on a variety of check blanks. You can customize the pay check printing layouts, if you’d like to see something different.

If you print large numbers of checks, you may want to use Goldenseal to print your own MICR checks with routing info on the bottom of the checks. For smaller quantlties you can use economical pre–printed checks.

Reports

To see a “register view” of your checking account, choose Banking from the Reports menu, and choose Checking Transactions from the submenu.

Other Banking

The Goldenseal checkwriting software also includes transactions for cash, credit cards, savings, escrow accounts and loan accounts. They work exactly the same as checking transactions.
