Feature Set:  

You can import a graphic file and scanned signature to customize your checks. InstiCheck will allow you to write checks from multiple bank or payee accounts and include data from other accounting programs. The program also includes the MICR line and you can preview checks before they print.

A free separate program included with InstiCheck will let you send and receive emailed checks. With InstiCheck Viewer you can create checks in PDF format and send them by email and a Key Authentication code sent with the check will allow the email recipient to only print it out once.

Ease of Use:  

InstiCheck has a simple menu toolbar and navigating icons which make it easy to use and every time you enter the program, a “tip of the day” dialog box will appear with useful tips about using the program. Some of the navigating icons are assigned to more than one option which can be confusing. In addition, adding graphic files to customize checks falls under “module settings” which is not as straightforward as it should be.

Ease of Installation/Setup:  

InstiCheck is easily downloaded from their website and because the program includes the MICR line, you won’t have to purchase a MICR font to install in the program or check stock with pre–printed MICR lines.

InstiCheck will work on Windows 95, 98, Me, 2000 and XP.

Help/Support:  

InstiCheck includes a help menu and “tip of the day” within the program. Although the program is simple, it doesn’t come with a user manual and their website only provides one FAQ. You can contact customer support by email from their website.
